JOB SUMMARY
To serve as the primary conduit between IT and the User community regarding Manufacturing and Engineering Systems. To manage and facilitate the analysis, design, development, implementation and maintenance of Manufacturing, Planning, Engineering, and Supply Chain Systems. Provide task and work direction, guidance and technical assistance to assigned programmers and developers; maintain competency and expertise in projects and systems within the assigned functional areas. Support, administer, and assist in the improvement of the company computer security policy, systems development standards, and other company and departmental policies and processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with manufacturing users to determine, research, and define the parameters, data requirements, and processes necessary to implement systems as directed by Manufacturing and Engineering Systems Management.
- Act as liaison between internal and external service providers to define data and process requirements insuring that user functional requirements are met.
- Manage the progress of application development to insure that implementation is on time and within budget.
- Develop user manuals associated with the applications. Conduct user training as needed.
- Make recommendations to senior management regarding the prioritization of open and planned business initiatives.
- Maintain reference documentation used within all applications that are manufacturing. This documentation includes: definition of data elements, source of data elements, and which department functions are responsible for the data – from source to delivery, various mathematical functions affecting the data, and data verification metrics used to insure data integrity.
- Maintain knowledge of current programming, application development and data delivery standards as defined by Ashley’s Information Technology Department. Insure that all applications developed on behalf of manufacturing users conform to those standards.
- Perform tests and simulations that assist in the development of data that is required to support reporting, analysis, and direction within the scope of manufacturing systems responsibilities.
- Perform ad-hoc data retrieval and outputs as required.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Primarily responsible for own work. Requires minimal to no supervision. Exercise a moderate amount of independent judgment and discretion. Make routine choices and frequently non-routine choices within established guidelines. Responsibility extends to sales activities for all divisions and regions within the United States and Canada.
