JOB SUMMARY
The R&D Coordinator will provide critical support to the UPH (Upholstery) sample team by managing material procurement, creating technical documentation, and ensuring efficient workflow processes. This role serves as a key liaison between design, engineering, and production teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Material Management:
- Order and track materials required for UPH sample production.
- Maintain inventory of sample materials and supplies.
- Tooling, machine request and control for R&D sample room.
- Tracking material, sample shipment, provide information for clearance import/ export.
2. Technical Documentation:
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for sample production.
- Document material specifications and construction methods.
- Update technical files and ensure accuracy of documentation.
- Maintain organized filing system for drawings and specifications.
3. Sample Team Support:
- Coordinate sample production schedules and timelines.
- Track sample requests and completion status.
- Facilitate communication between R&D, design, and production teams.
- Assist in resolving technical issues during sample development.
- Support quality control processes for sample products.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Textile Technology, Furniture Design, Product Development, or related fields.
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
2. Experience:
- Experience in product development, engineering support, technical documentation, project coordination, or related functions is an advantage.
- Experience in furniture manufacturing, upholstery products, textiles, foam products, or related industries is preferred.
- Experience using CAD software for product drawings and documentation is a plus.
3. Knowledge of:
- Product development and engineering documentation processes.
- Basic understanding of upholstery construction, furniture manufacturing, or soft goods production.
- Technical drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM), and product specifications.
- ERP, PDM, or PLM systems is an advantage.
- Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Outlook.
4. Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of SolidWorks is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
